WATERCOLOR WEDNESDAY, Everybunny's Belle Bunny...

Today is Watercolor Wednesday!  I can't believe I haven't done an Easter card for my blog yet, so I had to do one for you today.  The Everybunny Stamp Set in the Idea Book & Catalog is just adorable!  I tried to keep it simple to let the watercolor image be the focus, although it was hard not to add embossing or pearls, etc.   I'm still struggling with KISS (Keep It Simple Stamper), but I'm trying!  I did end up pulling out my Crimper though to give my eyelet border a ruffled appearance.

I used Shimmery White card stock for the watercolored piece - my favorite for watercoloring with Aquapainters and Classic Ink!  The Aquapainter just glides across it.  I know lots of you got Everyday Enchantment DSP during Sale-A-Bration, so Easter projects are perfect to use it on.  Hope you enjoy this one!

SHOEBOX SWAP SHARE...

Today I wanted to share with you some of the cards Jenni and I made at my upline's meeting.  We had a Shoebox Swap.  This is where each of the participants bring a box with a sample card they have designed and all the pieces to make it.  You go around to (or pass around) each box and make one of each sample card.  At the end of evening, you have several different cards with various styles and occasions while only having to design one yourself.  They are so much FUN!

Most of the cards were CAS (Clean & Simple), but I have to admit that I altered or added a bit to many of them.  I'm just not much of a CAS girl!  Some of the additions (like pearls), you may have to click on the picture to enlarge and see them.  Hope you enjoy my cards!

PETAL CONE EASTER BUNNY'S CARROT...

This Easter Carrot is a project from last week's Easter Big Shot class.  I've been planning this project ever since I saw the Petal Cone Die.  It was fun to finally see everyone make it.  I've certainly been getting my money's worth out of this die!  Learning the Ribbon Shredding technique was challenging, but I think attendees enjoyed it.  We will also be learning this technique at my Bow Making Magic class in May, so be sure to join us!  Enjoy!

EASTER PETAL CARD PUNCH BOXES...

Aren't these tiny little punch art boxes adorable?  I had made some of the Petal Card Punch Boxes for my Holly Jolly Stamp Camp last December.  They were just so cute that I had to make them again for Easter with some miniature punch art!  They are very quick to put together - especially the bunny.

For the box, you just punch out two of the Petal Cards.  Adhere three of the sides together with Sticky Strip.  For the Hatching Chick Box, I left the top flaps open for a Hershey Nugget to fit inside.  For the Bunny Butt Box, I filled it with jelly beans, closed the top flaps and tied a ribbon around the box.  Cute, cute!  They would be cute little favors for your Easter place settings.  Enjoy!

HATCHING CHICK & BUNNY BUTT PETAL CARD PUNCH BOXES SUPPLIES:
  • Card Stock – Whisper White, Basic Black, Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, Pink Pirouette, Springtime Vintage DSP

CAS FRIDAY, A Little Something 2-4-6-8 Box...

The 2-4-6-8 Box is the easiest box to make!  It is one of the first boxes I learned to make many years ago.  So I thought I would show you a quick and easy one for those of you who are newer to stamping.  The directions and template for the box follow the recipe.

Wheels are perfect for using on these little boxes.  It makes quick work of them - perfect when you are making lots of these for favors, etc.  For this box, I chose to use the Whimsy Stampin' Wheel in a tone on tone color for a subtle look.  It almost looks like bubbles being blown around the little girl from the Easter Blossoms set!  The tag is made with the Matchbox Messages stamp set with a little punch art over the heart, so that it better matches the theme.

This time I opted to tie a taffeta bow around the 1-1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon to punch it up a bit since I went so simple on the box itself.  Normally I would have used the Early Espresso since I had already stamped the little girl in that color (although in this picture she looks almost black, she isn't really), but I didn't realize I ran out, so I used the Chocolate Chip Ribbon (which is still available in my Clearance Rack for only $3.49).  Hope you enjoy this little box!

A LITTLE SOMETHING SUPPLIES:
  • Stamp Sets – Easter Blossoms (W#121905 $25.95, C#122057 $18.95), Matchbox Messages (#113800, $25.95), Whimsy Wheel (#109688, $8.50)
  • Card Stock – Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink, Very Vanilla, Old Olive
  • Ink – Pretty in Pink, Early Espresso
  • Ribbon – Pretty in Pink 3/8" Taffeta (#109067, $6.95), Chocolate Chip 1-1/4" Grosgrain (Clearance Rack only #115617, $3.49)
  • Punches – Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (#118309, $16.95), 1-1/4" Circle (#119861, $15.95), 1-3/8" Circle (#119860, $15.95), Two-Step Bird (#117191, $16.95)
  • Accessories – Basic Pearl Jewels Accents (#119247, $4.95)
  • Tools – Crop-a-Dile (#108362, $29.95)

2-4-6-8 BOX DIRECTIONS:
1.  Cut card stock to 5-1/2" x 8-1/2".

2.  Using your paper trimmer with the scoring blade and the card stock in the landscape position, score lines at 2”, 4”, 6”, and 8”, leaving 1/2” for the flap.  Turn the paper to the portrait position and score at 2”.

3.  Cut on the vertical score lines from bottom edge up to the score line. Remove small corner piece as shown.

4.  Stamp as desired. Using stamping wheels works wonderfully for a quick little gift.

5.  Fold on all score lines.

6.  Place Sticky Strip on side flap and on three of the bottom flaps.  Adhere side flap behind opposite side, fold all bottom flaps in, keeping the UNTAPED bottom flap on the outside (last).  Adhere all securely by rubbing your bone folder on the inside of the box bottom.

7.  Punch hole in the center top of the front and back of the box with your Crop-a-Dile about ½” from the top edge.  Pinch the front and back together with the sides folding inward.  Thread ribbon through the punched holes - from the front through to the back.  Pull to tighten, and tie your bow.

8.  Stamp and/or embellish with additional card stock. Fill and enjoy giving!

STRAW HAT EASTER TRINKET BOX...

In your Easter Bonnet, with all the frills upon it... this Easter Bonnet Trinket Box is one of the projects from my Easter Class.  It is cased from an idea I saw by Elizabeth Freiter and I just had to make my own version.  I changed it up to look more like a straw hat, added tags, etc.  The little box is formed around one of our Stampin' Store Containers.  At only .66 a piece, these are so economical for use as an adorable trinket box!

The flower uses a combination of the Faux Suede technique and the Crumpled Roses technique, although I made this flower a little more open and casual.  Tomorrow, I will share another version of this trinket box that I did, so be sure to come back and check it out.  Hope you enjoy my Easter Bonnet!

HAPPY EASTER, EVERYONE!

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter today!  It was a GORGEOUS day here today. I had a lovely brunch with Michael and the girls. Too much yummy food! ;)  Jenni and I did a bit of weeding on the herb planters.  Then this afternoon, Devin and Colleen and I had a mini-Medium marathon.  We hadn't watched any so far this year and they finally wanted to catch up.  Nice, quiet, relaxing day...  Life is good!

No project today, but here is a cute Easter project I did last year to tide you over until tomorrow.  Enjoy!

HUBBY'S EASTER BASKET CARD...

I made this card for hubby for Easter.  I just had to do an Easter Basket card since I am also a Longaberger consultant and I do love baskets!  The inside has a tiny pocket to hold some gift cards for him.

This one was made by weaving 3/4" strips and then running the weave through the Big Shot with the Top Note Die.  Then I made a trim strip for the top band and bent it around to the back of each side and attached brads.  The handle is the center section of the Oval Scallop Frame cut almost in half and then hand-cut about 3/4"  inside the oval.

For the gift card, cut your cardstock to 4 1/4" x 12".  Score in landscape position at 5.5" and 11".  Fold the 1" piece to the inside and secure each side with Sticky Strip.  And you have a very simple and easy gift card holder.  Enjoy!

EASTER EGG HATCHLINGS...

I was so excited to make my Mojo Monday sketch card yesterday, that I completely forgot to share the last project from my Easter Big Shot Class with you.  Oops!  Well, here it is now.  This card is made using the Oval Scallop Frame Die.  The egg is the center section inside the frame and the scallop trim you see on the egg is pieces of the surrounding frame.  When you have finished with this project, you can use it "as is" as a pocket card, cut the bottom flat to stand up, or add a ribbon so that it will hang!  Lots of possibilities...

The chickies that fit in the pocket are from an Easter Top Note Bag I made and posted on SCS last Spring.  I had to make his wings smaller and flat and his beak flat so that he could slide in and out of the egg easily.  Enjoy!

Here are some shots of the eggs attendees made at the class (open and closed):

PETER COTTONTAIL HOPPING DOWN THE BUNNY TRAIL...

This is the second project from my Easter Big Shot Class.  This card combines our Big Shot Build-a-Bear Dies with Punch Art.  Every since I first saw the Bear Die last summer, I have been planning a Peter Cottontail with it.  It just fits the traditional "Easter Bunny" so well!  I have made lots of other characters and have more planned with this die as well.

The card is larger than standard A2 cards so that I could fit his ears standing straight up!  He just wouldn't look the same with floppy ears.  It will fit in a 5 x 7 envelope though.  Enjoy!

HERE COMES PETER COTTONTAIL SUPPLIES:
