25 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS, DAY #24: Snowman, Santa & Rudolph Tea Light Candles...

Today's 25 Days of Christmas project is three for one - three adorable battery operated tealight candles!  I have been seeing the snowmen ones everywhere and decided I needed to make one.  But, he was lonely, so I made him a couple of friends - Santa and Rudolph.  Aren't they cute?

The snowmen I have seen all had a cute little "knit" cap, but I decided to go more traditional for my Frosty with a top hat instead.  I also chose a Scalloped Tulle scarf instead of Sweater Trim.  Both are cute though!  I colored his nose orange with a Sharpie marker.  Here's a closeup:

FROSTY THE SNOWMAN TEA LIGHT SUPPLIES:
  • Card Stock – Whisper White, Basic Black, Silver Glimmer Paper (#121790, $4.95), Red Glimmer Paper (#121790, $4.95)
  • Ink – Pink Pirouette, Pool Party Classic
  • Ribbon – Cherry Cobbler Scalloped Tulle (#127841, $6.95)
  • Punches – 2-1/2" Circle (#120906, $16.95), l-3/8" Circle (#119860, $15.95), Extra-Large Oval (#119859, $16.95), Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (#118309, $16.95), Owl Builder (#118074, $16.95),  Word Window (#119857, $15.95)
  • Accessories – Pearl Basic Jewels (#119247, $4.95), Rhinestone Basic Jewels (#119246, $4.95), Battery operated tea light candles, Sharpie marker
  • Tools – Big Shot, Snow Flurry Die (#127813, $21.95), Circles #2 Die (#114526, $15.95), Sticky Strip (#104294, $6.95), Mini Glue Dots
I'm still not sure about the Santa Tea Light.  I may change his hat later, but it will do for now.  To get the color of his nose light enough, I colored it and then wiped it off right away leaving a light staining of peach.  Here is a closeup of Santa:

SANTA TEA LIGHT SUPPLIES:
  • Card Stock – Whisper White, Real Red, Pacific Point, Blushing Bride (retired)
  • Punches – 1-3/4 Scallop Circle (#119854, $16.95), l-1/4" Scallop Circle (#127811, $15.95), l-3/8" Circle (#119860, $15.95), Scallop Oval, #119856, $16.95), Extra-Large Oval (#119859, $16.95), Curly Label (#119851, $16.95), Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (#118309, $16.95), Owl Builder (#118074, $16.95)
  • Accessories – Battery operated tea light candles, Sharpie marker
  • Tools – Big Shot, Snow Flurry Die (#127813, $21.95), Sticky Strip (#104294, $6.95), Mini Glue Dots
I kept Rudolph pretty simple.  After coloring his nose with a Sharpie, I painted a thin coat of the Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details.    Here is a closeup of Rudolph:

RUDOLPH THE REINDEER TEA LIGHT SUPPLIES:
  • Card Stock – Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, More Mustard, Whisper White, Basic Black, Red Glimmer Paper (#121790, $4.95)
  • Punches – 1-3/4 Scallop Circle (#119854, $16.95), Small Oval (#120908, $12.95), Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (#118309, $16.95), Merry Minis Punch Pack (#126882, $16.95), Owl Builder (#118074, $16.95)
  • Accessories – Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details (#125585, $2.50), White Signo Gel Pen (#105021, $3.95), Battery operated tea light candles, Sharpie marker
  • Tools – Big Shot, Snow Flurry Die (#127813, $21.95), Sticky Strip (#104294, $6.95), Mini Glue Dots
Please Note:  For the top of the tealight for each one, first punch a hole with the circle punch from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack.  Then center this hole in the window of the 1-3/8" Circle Punch and punch.  This will allow you to slide the card stock down over the light/nose.  You will also need to punch a hole in the base (underneath the candle) where the switch is for the light.

Coloring the nose is more for what the tealights look like when they are not lit.  When they are lit, they all look like different shades of yellow - the coloring does not affect it much.

25 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS, DAY #14: Purple Flurries Gift Card Holder...

Today's 25 Days of Christmas project is an oldie, but a goodie!  It is a gift card holder Jenni designed that she cased from another gift card holder she did a couple of years ago:  Ornamental Decoration.  There is a FREE mini tutorial following the supply list.

We used the Illuminate Glimmer Watermark Ink Pad from the Holiday Catalog for the watermarked images.  It is especially nice on dark colored card stock.  Since I used a light color, it doesn't show up very well in the photo, but it is a very pretty silvery, shimmery watermark.  And, yes, we used the Snow Flurry Die again!  What can I say?  I love it and it is not carrying over, so I have to use it all I can before the end of the month!  :o)  I colored the Rhinestone Jewels purple with a Sharpie.  Can't wait until I have the LARGE ones coming out in the Spring Catalog.  Those will be FABULOUS - you can never have enough bling!

Here it is opened up.  I left the gift card out of it, so that you could see the punch cut-outs.

PURPLE FLURRIES GIFT CARD HOLDER SUPPLIES:
  • Stamp Sets – Snowflake Soiree (W#127922 $29.95, C#127925, $21.95), Petite Pairs (W#122495 $28.95, C#122497 $20.95), No Peeking (W#126290 $24.95, C#126292 $17.95)
  • Card Stock – Wisteria Wonder, Perfect Plum
  • Ink – VersaMark, Illuminate Glimmer Watermark (#126857, $10.95)
  • Punches – Word Window (#119857, $15.95), 3/4" Circle (#119873, $12.95)
  • Accessories – Rhinestone Basic Jewels (#119246, $4.95),  White Stampin' Emboss Powder (#109132, $4.75)
  • Tools – Big Shot, Snow Flurry Die (#127813, $21.95), Sticky Strip (#104294, $6.95), Stampin' Dimensionals (#104430, $3.95)
GIFT CARD HOLDER DIRECTIONS:
  1. Cut card stock to  4 ¼” x 11”.
  2. With the card stock in the landscape position, score @ 3”, 5 ½” and 8”.
  3. Apply Sticky Strip to section #2 as shown above.
  4. Fold the card on the 5-1/2" score line.  Remove Sticky Strip liners and adhere sections #2 and 3 together to seal them shut.
  5. Use the Word Window Punch to punch the center flap twice side by side (about half of the Word Window opening should have card stock).
  6. In the center, punch again with the 3/4" Circle Punch (again about half way down).
  7. Cut 1" x 7-1/2" strip for the belly band.
  8. Fold the strip around the card and adhere to itself (not the card) placing the seam where it will be covered by your punch if it's big enough to be hidden.  If making snowflakes like we did, it will show, so put the seam on the back of the card.

25 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS, DAY #7: Midnight Flurries CAS Card..

Today's 25 Days of Christmas project is a CAS card featuring the Snow Flurry Die - yup, AGAIN!  What can I say???  I really, really like it!  I changed it up just a bit by adding the scalloped circle from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack over the circles at the ends of the snowflake "branches".  It does give it a different look!

Be sure to use your Embossing Buddy when embossing the sentiment as excess silver will really show up on darker card stock.  Enjoy!

25 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS, DAY #5: Silver & Plum Snow Flurries...

Today's 25 Days of Christmas project features the Snow Flurry Die which has quickly become a favorite of mine.  It is a clean and simple square card (4.25" x 4.25") with only one stamp from the adorable hostess stamp set, Mixed Medley.  I embossed the Designer Series Paper for more dimension and a slightly distressed look.  To enhance the distressed look, you can sand the raised embossed areas to reveal more of the white core.

This second version is the same basic card with the same elements, but with quite a different look.  In this one, I just flipped the DSP over to the other side, rotated the snowflake, and added jewels to circles at the "branch" ends.  I don't think I like the lighter paper as much for this card, but I do like the bling!  Enjoy!

Please note:  The Rhinestone Basic Jewels used for this project are on sale for 30% off during Stampin' Up!'s Online Extravaganza through Nov. 28!

25 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS, DAY #4: Elegant Golden Blessings Card...

Today's 25 Days of Christmas project features many products from the Holiday Catalog.  I chose a golden naturals color palette with a elegant theme for this one.

The ornament is the centerpiece of this card.  I used my favorite Holiday Ornaments Framelits to cut out the ornament with the new Champagne Glimmer Paper.  The snowflakes are from the new Snow Flurry Die.  The bottom one is cut from the Champagne Glimmer Paper and then colored with the Early Espresso marker for a subtle tone on tone effect.  Sadly, it doesn't show up very well in the picture.

The bow is done with the absolutely yummy Scalloped Tulle Ribbon and is suspended on 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon with the white edges colored with an Early Espresso marker.

Please note:  The More Merry Messages stamp set used for this project is on sale for 50% off during Stampin' Up!'s Online Extravaganza through Wednesday, Nov. 28!  This is a FANTASTIC Christmas set!  I purchased it for full price and it was totally worth it, but now you can get it for HALF PRICE!!  Woot!   Also used in this project is the Basics Glimmer Brads which are on sale for 30% off during the Extravaganza.
