TOPS Virginia State Queen 2019...

 

I hope you don't mind a non-stamping post today.  Some of you may know about my weight loss journey for the past 4 years.  Today, I was super excited to see that I was featured on the Official TOPS Club Inc. Facebook page!  It was quite the surprise when I started getting tagged with comments!  I am the 2019 Queen for Virginia which I have known since March, but did not know had now been announced.  Normally, I would have been crowned Queen in April at our state rally, but after postponing a couple of times, it was rescheduled to next year due to COVID-19.  You earn Queen by losing the most weight from the time you join TOPS (July 2016) until you reach your goal weight (July 2019).  I lost 142.2 lbs with TOPS (Taking Off Pounds Sensibly) and another 10 pounds or so before joining.  No crowning pictures yet, but the photo above is the picture that was featured on the Official TOPS Club page. 

Update August 21, 2020:  Still no state crowning, but here is a picture from my wonderful local chapter awards where I was crowned as our Chapter Queen.  We had a fabulous "TOPScars" theme and everyone dressed as we were going to the Oscars awards!

A:  Stampin’ SEAL

• Stampin’ SEAL is an everyday adhesive that bonds instantly and neatly, like SNAIL
• Stampin’ SEAL was designed to have improved strength over SNAIL

• Stampin’ SEAL+ is a super-strength adhesive that bonds instantly and neatly, similar to Fast Fuse.
• It is perfect for heavier layers or small 3D items.
• Stampin’ SEAL+ is perforated for easy separation after laydown

• Exclusive case

Q: How should we recycle old SNAIL cases and cartridges?
A: As you transition from SNAIL to Stampin’ SEAL, we recommend that you use up your cartridge supply and recycle their cases just as you always have.

Q: Why do I need a Stampin’ SEAL if I have Stampin’ SEAL+?  Do I need to buy both?
A: Stampin’ SEAL is less expensive and is designed for everyday use.  Stampin’ SEAL+ has a stronger bond which works well with 3D and heavier projects.

Q: Will SNAIL/Fast Fuse refills fit into the new Stampin’ SEAL/Stampin’ SEAL+ adhesive cases?
A: No, they do not.

Q: Do Stampin’ SEAL and Stampin’ SEAL+ have the same case?
A: Yes. They can be used interchangeably if desired.

Q: Will Stampin’ SEAL and Stampin’ SEAL+ roll back on itself and jam—as would sometimes occur with SNAIL Adhesive and Fast Fuse?
A: Any roller adhesive can exhibit this problem.  When it occurs, we recommend stopping the adhesive laydown and adjusting the roll manually before proceeding.  It is always helpful to use slow and controlled strokes during use.

Q: Are Stampin’ SEAL and Stampin’ SEAL+ permanent adhesives?
A: Yes.  Stampin’ SEAL and Stampin’ SEAL+ are non-repositionable adhesives. We recommend against moving embellishments or paper once you have adhered them to your project.

Q: Is SEAL an acronym? 
A: Yes, it stands for “Simple Easy Adhesive Laydown.”

Q: Are Stampin’ SEAL and Stampin’ SEAL+ acid free and photo safe?
 A: Yes.

Stampin’ SEAL and/or SEAL+ Troubleshooting

• The tip of the adhesive runner should be in a flat position against the paper; avoid using it on an angle.
• Once the laydown of the adhesive is complete, stop and pull the adhesive straight up. Avoid pulling the adhesive back to separate it from the paper.
• If the adhesive won’t advance and the trail breaks off, add slight pressure to get it rolling again. You may need to use your finger to advance the adhesive. 
• Stampin’ SEAL and Stampin’ SEAL+ create a strong adhesive bond. When using more fibrous papers, paper tearing may occur. If the paper tears and rolls into the adhesive, it will not ruin your adhesive roll. Stop and adjust your location and angle before proceeding with a slow and lightly controlled stroke. 
• Similar to what you may have experienced with SNAIL or Fast Fuse, it is possible for Stampin’ SEAL and Stampin’ SEAL+ to roll back on itself or jam. This can happen with any roller adhesive. If it occurs, we recommend stopping the adhesive laydown and adjusting the roll manually before proceeding. Using slow and controlled strokes is advise.

These are my retirement lists which I redid the way my OCD brain works!  I like everything sorted with all the stamps, dies, ribbons, etc. together and then in alphabetical order.  I find it much easier to go through and see what I must get before it goes.  Plus I removed the French items as they are geared more towards Canada.

THOUGHTFULNESS IN HEATHER CARD...

This is a cute little card I made at a Downline meeting.  I love the new Small Bloom punch and this stamp set makes it quick and easy to create a "Thank You"or "Congratulations" card when you need one!

Of course, I had to use my favorite new embossing folder for the background - just love that Parisian Flourish folder!  Both the Nested Labels and the small bloom punched piece are raised up on Stampin' Dimensionals to give even more depth.  I also added some Wink of Stella to the bloom, although you can't really see it in this pic.
