STORAGE SATURDAY, Dauber Case Templates Available NOW...

Two weeks ago, I posted my Dauber Cases on my Saturday Storage post.  I offered them for sale as well.  You can order yours now HERE.

However, there are many of you (demonstrators who already got cases from the same demo I did or those from other countries who I cannot sell cases to unfortunately, etc.) who begged me to sell the templates for my cases since they already have cases.  I finally finished the sale version of the templates for the cases and they are now available for sale.

Update:  I have now updated the template to include box templates for THREE different Dauber Cases:  Core Colors, In-Colors, etc., and Retired Colors.  Additionally there are Core Color Grids in THREE format orders:  ROYGBIV (rainbow) order, Stampin' Up! Color Collection order and Alphabetical (also for In-Colors).  Also included are the Design Tops I used on my own cases for all three styles.

Click the PayPal link below to purchase your very own templates.  Included are three documents.  One pdf is 8 pages of box templates and instructions.  The other pdfs are the Dauber Color Labels that you can print on your own return address labels to apply to your daubers.  All this for ONLY $4!

Upon checkout, PayPal should take you immediately to the download page.  If it does not (due to popup blockers or other software conflicts), please email me to let me know and I will confirm your payment and send you the files.

PLEASE NOTE:  These templates may be printed out for PERSONAL USE ONLY!  They may not be copied, shared with others (via link, file or print), rewritten, sold individually, gifted or put in dauber boxes for resale.  PLEASE respect my copyright on these templates and refer others to my website to purchase their own.  I feel I priced them very reasonably to allow others to purchase the template themselves.

If you already purchased this template and would like the updated version with the additional templates for $1, please email me for how you can get it.  Thanks!

STORAGE SATURDAY, Dauber Storage Boxes...

Earlier this week, I featured Sponge Daubers for my Tool Tip Tuesday post.  Rather than wash the daubers out after each use, I find it easier to have one dauber dedicated to each color.  As promised I am sharing my storage tip to corral all those little fellers.

There are lots of ways to store your sponge daubers.  Previously I had stored my daubers in a large Stamp & Supply Box (plastic case that our stamps come in).  However, the daubers kept turning around and I couldn't see the labels to pick out the correct dauber easily.  So, I upgraded to these fabulous dauber boxes I found.  I hope that Stampin' Up! will get something like these one day as they are difficult to find in stock.

I labeled each of the daubers with it's color.  Depending on the label type used, you may want to use Sticky Strip to adhere the labels or you may find it peeling off in time.

Update:  I have since found 3M Permanent-Adhesive Return Address Labels, 1/2" x 1 3/4", which have held up very well without peeling off and without needing Sticky Strip (at least in my climate).

Since I am a little OCD, I had to put the colors on the bottom inside the dauber spaces as well the top grid.  I found it much easier to put them back quickly instead of referring to the grid.

And, of course, I HAD to decorate the top and make my case pretty!  I made a very simple black and white design that matches my studio with My Digital Studio.  I used Dotto (temporary adhesive) to attach it to the inside top in case I want to change it later.  Then I attached the grid to the back of the design paper.  Be sure everything is facing the right way before adhering.  Ask me how I know!  ;)

I have three dauber boxes on my desk.  One is our 40 Core Colors.  In the second, I keep my daubers for In Colors, Shimmer Paints, etc.  I have lots of room for In Colors for the next few years!  In the third, I have my Retired Colors.  You may want to add a Window Sheet over your top inside chart to protect it from the ink on your daubers.

Would you like your own Dauber Case?

Dauber Cases $50 + shipping as described below (unless local pickup)

DAUBER CASES INCLUDE:
  • One Dauber Case -- see available case types below
  • Design top, as pictured, and label grid on the inside top (these two attached with temporary adhesive so that you can change the top, if desired) and the individual labels on the inside bottom (permanent adhesive).
  • 40 Sponge Daubers and the color labels for them (for you to attach).

TYPES OF CASES AVAILABLE:
  • Core Colors.  These are available with grids in three different orders:
    • ROYGBIV Order (rainbow as pictured above)
    • Stampin' Up! Color Collection Order
    • Alphabetical Order
  • In Colors, etc. (shown above)
  • Retired Colors with 30 retired colors (retired in June 2010) and the ten most recently retired In-Colors that are not current Core Colors.

Cost is $50.00 plus shipping ($5.50 for one case or $10.85 for two to six cases).  Insurance against loss or damage is optional, but recommended as the case is a tight fit and plastic ($1.85 for one case, $2.35 for two cases, $2.85 for three or four cases).

The Dauber Cases are basically the cost of the items only with no charge for my time in assembling and processing them or PayPal fees.  No cases will be sold individually.

If you are interested in purchasing a Dauber Case, please email me with the type of case you are interested in (including grid selection) and whether you would like insurance.   I will then send you a PayPal invoice and upon payment order your sponge daubers.

Dauber Case Templates:  For those not in the U.S., demonstrators or if you already have your own case, you can now purchase the templates for the inserts for the Dauber Cases and Dauber Labels.  You can find that info in this post:  DAUBER CASE TEMPLATES

TOOL TIP TUESDAY, Sponge, Distress or WHACK it!...

Time for Tool Tip Tuesday once again!  One tool that I use for almost EVERY project I make is my sponges.  Whatever term you use (color, sponge, distress, or whack), sponging is one of my all time favorite techniques.  Sponge daubers and stamping sponges make a great team for sponging any project.  They each have unique applications, but you will find that between the two, you will have the right tool to add the perfect touch to your project!  Check back on Saturday for more on daubers for my Saturday Storage Tip!

SPONGE DAUBERS
These unique applicators have a small, rounded sponge tip attached to plastic tubes for creating soft airbrush effects on paper.  The tubes slip right onto your finger, giving you greater application control.  You'll be amazed at the versatile results you can achieve with sponge daubers!

FEATURES
  • 12 per package, $10.95 US
  • Approximately 1-1/4" tall
  • Great for applying color with ink, pastels, etc.

TIPS & TRICKS
  • To use a sponge dauber with a Classic Stampin’ Pad, press a closed ink pad so the ink pools in the lid, and then use the sponge dauber to apply the ink to desired area.
  • Using broad strokes, sponge color on desired area at a 45-degree angle. For a sponged circle of color, push directly onto paper at a 90-degree angle.
  • Best tool for burnishing which has a smooth, consistent look.
  • Sponge Daubers can be washed under running water and reused, or you can label them for single color use (check back Saturday for my Dauber Storage Tips).
IDEAS
  1. Stamp image with Versamark, then use the sponge daubers to dab Stampin' Pastels on the image to make your it pop (Poppin' Pastels Technique).
  2. Use with ink and stencils for stenciling.
  3. Make a fun dotted background.
  4. Use to apply ink over embossed images (Emboss Resist Technique)
  5. Apply multiple colors of ink to a mostly solid stamp with the daubers and stamp.  It gives a lovely multi-colored stamp image that is sure to wow.
  6. Use to apply multiple colors of ink on glossy cardstock for gorgeous backgrounds.
  7. Color distress the edges of your cardstock for a soft and pretty look.
  8. Apply Shimmer Paints to your projects.  You can even tint the shimmer paint with our reinkers.
  9. Add a little color or glow anywhere on your project - suns, light around an object, sky, etc.
  10. Non-Stamping Use:  Moisten one with water to use to seal all your Christmas Card envelopes!

STAMPIN' SPONGES
Our Stampin' Sponges are just the right tool for sponging ink around the edges of your card stock.  Use them whole or cut them into wedges, so you have one for each color.

FEATURES
  • Superb for sponging ink onto projects
  • Approximately 2-3/4" diameter
  • 3 per package, $3.50 US
  • Easily cut with scissors into wedges or any desired shape
TIPS & TRICKS
  • You can cut the sponges into wedges of 4-8.   This means you can get up to 24 sponge wedges from only ONE PACKAGE!  Two packs will give you enough for all our colors!  A very economical way to sponge.
  • These sponges have large surfaces that allow for wider color application and texture.
  • You can use different sides for different colors at the same time while doing one project which can make it easier when stamping on the go.
  • Color application is softer (in color) and more diffuse than with sponge daubers.   However, sponging creates a textured, rough look on cardstock vs. burnishing with daubers that is desirable on some projects.
  • Stampin' Sponges are my tool of choice when braying.  They are wonderful to use around torn or punched paper edges for mountains, water, sky, etc.
  • Stampin' Sponges are especially good for distressing/aging used in vintage styles.  They make it very easy to antique the entire card surface.
  • Rinse out after each use.
  • I wash mine out every time as this is Stampin' Up!'s recommendation.  However, if you don't like doing this, you can keep your wedges for reuse with particular colors.  If you prefer this, punch out a Round Tab Punch from the coordinating color card stock, fold the punch in half and staple on to the narrow end of your wedge (see photo inset above left).

SNOW BUDDIES 3x3 CONVENTION SWAPS...

I love the Snow More Fun stamp set from the new catalog and HAD to use it for my convention swaps.  Another new catty favorite of mine is the Perfect Pennants die, so I wanted to work that one in as well.  Yesterday, I shared with you the versions of my Snow Buddies convention swaps that did NOT make the cut with my family.  Although one of my color selections yesterday had the new In Color, Lucky Limeade, (and was my personal favorite) I ended up going with the more muted shades since the brood liked them better.  They are more unusual colors for Christmas and it's fun to show that you don't always have to go super "Christmasy".  And this card could easily be used all winter long.

Today's versions use a different image from the stamp set that the family preferred.  They are basically the same card, but with two different techniques to finish it off.  The first one pictured is the version that my family voted as the winner and the one I ended up using for my convention swaps.  With this one I just used the 2-Way Glue Pen to add dots of snow and highlights on the snowman face and then sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.

The second version uses the Dazzling Diamond Dust technique.  However, everyone like the "snow" better.  I thought you might like to see another option though.  Enjoy!

CONVENTION SWAPS THAT DIDN'T MAKE THE CUT...

Today I have a couple versions of 3" x 3" cards I was working on for my convention swaps.  Although I could not attend, I was lucky enough to have my upline bring my swaps for me for a SUDSOL 3x3 swap.

Originally, I was going to post these pictures a couple of weeks ago and have people vote on which version they liked best for.  Unfortunately, time got away from me with all the repair issues going on at my house and I had to resort to a family vote.  Below are two versions that did not get any votes although one of them was my favorite.  Even though my family didn't like them, I thought I would share them with you and let you decide for yourself.  Tomorrow I will share the other two versions including the winner.  Enjoy!

RIBBON SHARE OPPORTUNITY...

Have you seen the gorgeous new ribbons in the new catalog?  Do you NEED to have them ALL?  I am offering a "share" of all the new ribbons styles in the 2011/2012 catalog.  Each person will receive 34 full yards of ribbon (that's 102 feet!) for a fraction of the cost of buying a role of each ribbon yourself.

How Does a Ribbon Share Work?

I gather people together who would like the new ribbons in groups of five.  If you are interested in receiving the new ribbon styles as described below, you EMAIL ME indicating your interest and I will send you a PayPal invoice as soon as I get a group of 5 people interested in the ribbon share.  Please note:  Per Stampin' Up! policy, the ribbon share is only available to US residents and military families with APO/FPO addresses.

Each participant will receive 2 yards of each of the following ribbons (shown in picture above):
  • 1/2" Scallop Dots Ribbon  (Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler, Chocolate Chip, Elegant Eggplant, Marina Mist, Melon Mambo, More Mustard, Old Olive, Pretty in Pink, Tangerine Tango)
  • 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon  (Calypso Coral, Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade, Pool Party, Wisteria Wonder)
  • 3/8" Denim Jean Ribbon  (Artichoke, Blue)
Cost for all 34 yards of ribbon is: $32.00 (this includes shipping).  Insurance against loss or damage is an additional $1.80, if desired.

When emailing me, be sure to include YOUR PAYPAL EMAIL ADDRESS, your name, address and phone #.  I will confirm with you when I have a group of 5 people to share ribbon and email you a PayPal invoice.  I will then order it from Stampin' Up! and divide and package it up and mail the ribbon shares out to you.  Please note it could take 10 days to two weeks for this process plus shipping time.  All orders will be shipped USPS 1st class mail in a bubble envelope.

Please contact me if you have any questions.
