PETAL CONE BIRTHDAY FAVOR BASKET...

Isn't this a fun little favor basket?  We made this box at my Birthday Bonanza class last month.  No stamping and minimal embellishment on this one.  Just a cheery little box to use for a  birthday favor.  Or change up the DSP/card stock for a baby shower or wedding favor.  And it's made with the Petal Cone Die!  Yet another use for this awesome die!

The DSP is the Sale-a-Bration Ice Cream Parlor.  So cute!  This is the last week to get your FREE paper (or stamp sets, etc.).  Don't miss out!  The tutorial for the box follows the recipe.  Enjoy!

BIRTHDAY FAVOR BOX DIRECTIONS:
(click photos to enlarge and see details)

1.  Cut out two of the Petal Cones with Petal Cone Die.

2.  Fold the Petal Cone in half.  On your cutter, line up the top scoreline at 3".  Holding the guard down tightly.  Cut.  Repeat with the second cone.

3.  Keeping the Petal Cone folded, line the cut bottom at 3/4" (on the the Paper Cutter/Scorer, that is the left edge of the guide) and score.  Turn the Petal Cone over and repeat on the other side.  Repeat with the second cone.

4.  Cut out the corner of the tab portion as shown.

5.  Cut on the center score line up from the bottom to the score line as shown.

6.  Apply Sticky Strip to the side tab and one of the bottom tabs of each Petal Cone (same bottom tab on each cone).

7.  Remove red cover from one of the side tabs.  Adhere to the underside of the other cone on the untabbed side as shown.

8.  Remove the red cover from the other side tab and adhere to the underside of first Petal Cone on the untabbed side to form the box.

9.  Remove the red covers from the bottom tabs and fold the adhesived tabs in.  While holding the box square, fold the opposite bottom tabs in over the adhesive tabs.  Place the box on your working surface and use your bone folder on the inside of the bottom of box to press and make sure the tabs are securely adhered.

10.  Apply adhesive to the front and back top flaps.  Fold each in and adhere to inside of the box side.

11.  Using the Crop-a-Dile, insert a Jumbo Eyelets in each of the top side flaps.

12.  Thread the Pom Pom Trim through the Eyelet and adhere back onto itself (underside) with Sticky Strip.  (see finished picture at top)

13.  Cut DSP panels using the template at the right.  Adhere to the center of the sides.

14.  Finish decorating as desired.
