PEPPERMINT TWIST BOX IN A BAG...
Here is another of the projects that I am demonstrating at my November workshops. This paper is just the perfect quintessential Christmas peppermint paper.

PEPPERMINT BOX IN A BAG SUPPLIES:
  • Stamps – Christmas Punch (Hostess Level 2)
  • Card stock – Real Red, 4.5" x 4.5", 1" x 11", scraps
    • Merry Moments DSP 5.25" x 11"
  • Ink – Real Red Classic
    • Ribbon – Real Red 3/4" Polka-Dot Grosgrain Ribbon (#115608, $8.95), 8"
    • Punches – Boho Blossoms (#110711, $15.95), Round Tab (#108340, $15.95), Scallop Edge Punch (#112091, $15.95)
    • Accessories – Clear Rhinestone Brads (#113144, $10.95), Stampin’ Dimensionals (#104430, $3.95), Sticky Strip (#$104294, $6.95)
BOX IN A BAG DIRECTIONS (adapted from SCS Tutorial):
      1. Cut your Cardstock to 4 ½” x 4 ½”.  Score 1” around all the edge on all 4 sides.
      2. Score again from the point where the score lines meet to each of the outer corners.
      3. Crease your box on the 1 inch score lines.
      4. Bring the corners by pinching and folding inward..
      5. Using Sticky Strip™ glue your box together, using the pointy folded pieces of the box.
      6. Cut your Designer Paper to 5 ½” x 11”. Add Sticky Strip™ on the bottom and up one side of the back of the background paper.
      7. Peel off the Sticky Strip™ along the bottom only. Lay your box along the bottom edge of the background paper so they are even with each other. Start it about half way on the side of the box.  Continue to wrap the paper all the way around the box, keeping the edges of the paper and the box even.
      8. When you come to the end piece, remove the Sticky Strip™ from the side.
      9. Carefully bring your edge together on the bottom, and also up the side of the bag.
      10. Scallop Edge punch the entire long side of a 11" x 1” strip of Real Red cardstock.
      11. You can do some faux stitching at this time if you would like.
      12. Add 2 strips of Sticky Strip™ on the back of the scalloped piece of cardstock. Wrap it around the bag keeping the bottom even with the bag bottom. Start the strip at the back of the bag seamed edge.
      13. Punch out 2 round tab punches, fold in half and punch a 3/8” circle with the Crop-a-dile in them. You can then do faux stitching on them, if desired.
      14. Add your Sticky Strip™ to the inside of the round tab punch pieces, do it on both sides of the inside. Glue these on the front and the back of the bag, this will hold the bag closed when you tie ribbon through it.
      15. Decorate some medallions and/or brads for the front of your bag. Use glue dots or Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere your decorated pieces on the front.
      16. Fill your box and tie it together with ribbon.
