LATTICE SNOWFLAKE CARD...

This is one of the cards that I did for my October Big Shot class.  Everyone really liked it - especially the non-traditional inclusion of the Soft Suede.  I used the Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint to make a Shimmer Mist Spray that we applied to the card to give it a golden shimmer, but it is not really picked up in the picture.  I love the Shimmery effect it gives to the Designer Series Paper - like the Shimmery White card stock.  The Shimmer Mist recipe is below.

LATTICE SNOWFLAKE SUPPLIES:
  • Stamps – Warm Words (#115108) $21.95
  • Card stock – Whisper White 5.5" x 8.5", scored @ 4.5"
    • Brushed Gold 5.5" x 4.25",  piece to cut lattice die cut
    • Soft Suede, piece to cut lattice die
    • Brushed Gold & Shimmery White scraps for sentiment
    • Christmas Cocoa Specialty DSP (#116770) $11.95
  • Ink – Gold Metallic, Shimmer Mist (70% alcohol, Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint, Soft Suede Re-inker)
  • Accessories – Rhinestone Fire Square Brad, Clear Embossing Powder, Stampin' Dimensionals
  • Tools – Big Shot, Lattice Die, Modern Label Punch, Modern Label Movers & Shapers Die, Piercing tool & pad
SHIMMER MIST RECIPE:
  1. Empty 2 oz. spray bottle and label (empty Stampin' Mist bottles work great!)
  2. Fill with 70% rubbing alcohol -- although 90% will dry quicker, the mist will not spray as fine and may even clog completely due to solids that form.
  3. Add about one teaspoon of any of the new Shimmer Paints in the Holiday Mini Catalog.  May begin with less and then add until happy with the results.
  4. Add 5-15 drops of Soft Suede Re-inker depending on desired effect.

  1. What a wonderful idea Marie. I've been fascinated with the lattice die for awhile now but never thought of snowflakes! Thanks for sharing the inspiration. - Jean
