LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW...

Well, we got our White Christmas here!  The snow started at 8:00 pm last night and it's been snowing ever since!  So far, we're at 13".  I know that's not a big deal in many parts of the country, but it is in Virginia Beach.  Things pretty much come to a standstill when there's just a couple of inches.  Coming from New England, I am fine driving in the snow, but most people here have no idea how to and accidents are everywhere.  So I just stay home and hunker down.

We're having a Pajama day today, staying in and watching DVR shows and movies with Colleen.  Luckily, her work decided to close, so she was able to come back home.  Nice cozy day with the family!  As long as the power doesn't go out, we're good!  Here are a couple of photos from our blizzard.  In this shot you can see how all the branches of our big tree are so heavy with snow that they are actually laying on our car and the ground:

Here's a shot of the front yard under the tree.  Poor Santa and Mrs. Claus are even covered with snow under the porch!

Here's a shot of the front of the car from the garage where you can see the branches laying on our car.  Later in the day, two of the branches actually came down from the weight of the snow - luckily missing the house and vehicles!

Here's a shot from the deck.  The poor birdies won't be eating anytime soon!

  1. How exciting! I love big storms. I live in Colorado and we have not had even one storm this fall/winter. I love not having to drive in it, but Christmas was just not the same without the white stuff on the ground. Enjoy!
