TOOL TIP TUESDAY: Shimmer Paint...

Shimmer Paint has returned!  Add subtle shimmer and shine to your papercrafting projects with the help of Shimmer Paint, which comes in four bedazzling colors:
  • Bright Copper
  • Champagne Mist
  • Frost White
  • Vegas Gold
Shimmer Paint Info
  • These are non-toxic, acid-free, and come with 1/2 fluid oz. in each container
  • Shake the container vigorously before each use.
  • If applied to a stamp, wash the paint off as soon as possible with water and a mild detergent. Then use Stampin’ Mist® to condition the stamp.
  • Shimmer Paint can be used with Aqua Painters®, Sponge Daubers,  Stamping Sponges, Embossing Folders and more!  Be sure to wash all of these immediately after use!!!
  • Do NOT use with Blender Pens.

18 Shimmer Paint Technique Tips
  1. After shaking the container, use a Sponge Dauber to lift paint from the cap and apply it to your stamps.
  2. Emboss the Shimmer Paint by apply the paint to your stamp and stamping it and then immediately putting Clear Embossing Powder on it and using the Heat Tool to emboss.
  3. Use an Aqua Painter or a paint brush to color in your stamped lined images.  Or to add accents to water, sky, etc.
  4. Use a Sponge Dauber with Frost White over the entire stamped cardstock to add a shimmery coat and create a shimmery faux DSP.
  5. Use a Sponge Dauber to add a gold halo or accent to stamps after inking with main color.  This is beautiful on trees!
  6. Make a shimmer spritz by adding a few drops of Shimmer Paint to a Stampin’ Spritzer and then add water or rubbing alcohol.
  7. Use Shimmer Paint on any porous surface: cardstock, Watercolor Paper, etc.
  8. Use Shimmer Paint with our Decorative Masks or make your own stencil with our dies.  You can even actually use our dies themselves as a stencil!  The Blizzard Die is amazing for this!
  9. Use with Saran Wrap to pounce onto cardstock for a beautiful marbled or Faux Mother of Pearl background
  10. Use Shimmer Paint on any of our embellishments like the Jewels, Pearls, Chicken Wire, wooden, etc.
  11. When heat-set on fabric, the paint is permanent; the fabric will retain its original texture.  Try it on our new Santa Bags in the Holiday Catalog!
  12. Use Stamping Sponges, Sponge Dauber or Aqua Painters to apply to our ribbons!  You can heat set the paint after you have achieved the desired results.
  13. Mix Shimmer Paint with the Embossing Paste for a shimmery textured accent
  14. Use an Aqua Painter to flick shimmery accents onto your projects.
  15. Use an Aqua Painter to put a wash of shimmer on your paper - more translucent or opaque depending on the color and amount of thinning.
  16. Coat one side of your embossing folder with Shimmer Paint and run through the Big Shot.  You will get two different looks depending on which side you use.
  17. Missing your favorite color of Shimmer Paint?  Add a few drops of reinker to some Frost White or Champagne Shimmer Paint
  18. Swirl multiple paint colors together for fun effects.
Adding a bit of glitz to your projects suddenly got easier!!!
